New York New York

Right i know that this is a bit late, and yes everyone that i know is probably thinking I KNOW you went to New York- you don't stop banging on about it but anyway, here i go..

As we are studying Fashion Promotion and Communication, we were sent away on a trip to the big US of A to have a look at the retail side of things in America, yes we did do this part of the time but we also managed to get up to a few more things, like spending half our money on Starbucks- it was sooooo cold! We met a man with 6 yes 6 fingers, and he gave us his card (god knows why) and went to the NBA Basketball game, which i have to say was one of the best nights of my life!

But yes we did have a great look around all of the stores, and yes in view of the work in which we have been doing this term it has been helpful.

So good times all around x

Ring-a-Bling!

Rings, a symbol for marriage, engagement, eternity, a full circle or a sealed band to portray a sign of unity and togetherness. I personally am not a big fan of jewels and bling however i do wear a ring. Having come to Uni i have met a girl (and yes some of you will know who) who wears crazy rings that attach all her fingers, amazing detailed designs and even though they do make her fingers green so she has to apply savlon every night, they look amazing.
Rings are a great fashion accessory which allow people to express themselves with crazy designs, colours and shapes that are a statement but arent too much, keep a look out this summer for them, and while we are at it, lets go mad and all buy a ring thats a little different...

Here you have it, the top image an example of a set of rings to create your own landscape.. and some other quirky designs from high street stores 'Top shop' and 'Monsoon Accessorize'

Wish Lists are for Dreamers

Blogging. Seems like an insane waste of time when in this day and age we have facebook, telephones and general websites. Why on earth people still find ways to share their opinons seemed completely beyond me. This was my opinion before i started this blog and looking at other peoples.
In fact, it seems that blogging especially for students in art and design like myself or people with general interests is a fantastic way to share research, or things that we see on the internet or in everyday life and think 'wow,' if only someone who shared my interests could see this.

I hope with the start of this blog i can share the things which i find interesting. As a student in Fashion Promotion and Communication i hope to take inspiration from other like minded bloggers and find interesting pieces and designers etc on the internet.

The start of this blog is about a study trip where our teachers took about 50 Uni students to New York (were they mad..?) and this is where i have taken the name for this blog from 'Wish Lists are for Dreamers.' When walking down the streets of New York where the buildings were so tall the shops so elegant and the fashions of women and men walking along side us showed us up that we were distinctly British, i kind of felt that here in America you make your own dreams. You push your life towards the goals and aspirations that as from a young age we all work so hard to create. No dream is to big, no handbag is effectivley too expensive.

It is with this that i called my blog 'Wish Lists are for dreamers.' They most definatley are. We can all dream and wish for things in life that we want, but its those that take the initiative and strive to get what they want that succeed in life.
